"In faith we trust that God thinks on us with thoughts of peace." -Martin Luther
We are gratified and strengthened in our resolve to do ministry at Holy Trinity when witnessing the many ways God is working in and through us. In my mind a recent congregational meeting showed how God answers prayers. God comes and stands in our presence and breathes His Spirit as surely as Christ did with his disciples Easter evening. We went around the table responding to the question, "Why I attend Holy Trinity."What follows are excerpts. Sure people may say something that sounds good when they are aware that many are listening, and as the pastor I am hardly a disinterested journalist. However, God's Spirit was undoubtedly present at that time. They said they keep coming back in order to: "To hear the Word and be blessed by it." "We know the living God and serve Him." "I come ready to worship and meet my Maker." "Messages are helpful, challenging, and also because of the kind of people we are: we get involved; the church extends its arms to everyone." "It?s here I learned Christians are interdependent, not independent." "To be with others and praise, learn and know I still needs lots of help." "Hear a spiritual message." "To know thankfulness." "We teach the Bible." To love God and feel God is here." To worship, praise, glorify God here. My family is happy here, they want to come because we do things we can't do with family in the world." "Worship and praise is easier to do here." "To hear the Word and praise God." "To praise the Lord, learn the Word, for growth, I learned to pray here through the Alpha class." This is something as realistic as we can get to say who we are.
